BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Serves as Consular Cashier. Collects, records, and controls receipts of all consular and DHS fees. Submits fees daily to the Class B Cashier. Prepares all notarial services for consular officer action. Answers questions regarding notarials and the Hague Convention on the Legalization of Public Documents. Manages, prepares, and submits Time and Attendance records for the Consular Section. Serves as Visa Assistant during non-ACS hours. Serves as back-up passport/nationality specialist.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1. Education:
Completion of Secondary Education is required.

2. Experience: 2-4 years of progressively responsible Administrative/government services, preferably involving the application of complex regulations. Previous experience with cashiering is required.
3. Language Requirements: English and Arabic: Level Four (Fluent-Speaking/Writing/Reading).
4. Knowledge/Other Criteria: Basic knowledge of State Department procedures and standard knowledge of the consular services environment. Must acquire knowledge of cashiering, ACRS, and time keeping
5. Other Skills: Standard clerical, keyboard/data entry and IT software experience. Basic numerical and mechanical skills. Exercise of tact and judgment in dealing with the public. Ability to work under pressure for long periods of time. Ability to draft correspondence in English. Ability to apply good judgment in applying complex statutes and regulations. Ability to organize workload and set priorities. Must have initiative and ability to work independently, yet within the framework of a team.
